Ireena
The burgomaster's daughter
Ireena found her father dead on the floor and fled from the drow and the bugbear in her doorway. She trusts only Beowolfe, the one human, and kept a hand on his cloak the whole evening. Kolyan found her in the woods when she was five; she remembers nothing from before. Some villagers want her handed to the master, who they say has grown fond of her. Five nights ago he came to the house and took her upstairs, and she has the bite to prove it, though she remembers none of it. She has trained for months with a jeweled, silver-edged rapier and is genuinely good with it. Neither she nor her brother eats Morgantha's pies, because their father forbade it.
When the west gate fell she ran home as her brother told her, and faced a mob at her own door. In the kitchen Hay-zel told her the master means to marry her. She has decided to leave Barovia with the party. At her father's grave she said the first thing she remembers is his coat around her shoulders and his voice: "There you are. We've been looking for you." She put a rapier through a zombie's neck in the churchyard. At two in the morning, a vampire took her from her window and dropped her when Genji burst in. Next time she fought back: she charged the vampire in her nightgown with her rapier and landed a critical hit. "If my brother could see me now." She left Barovia with the party wearing Ismark's chain shirt and carrying Beowolfe's scimitar.
